Fannin County has seen an additional 30 cases of COVID-19 reported in the last week.
This brings the county’s total up to 1,974 positive cases since the pandemic began.
As of Monday, March 1, 51 of the people who had contracted the virus have died, nine probable deaths have been reported and 159 individuals have been hospitalized.
In comparison, last week the county had seen 1,944 positive cases total as of Monday, February 22. Fifty-one of those people who had contracted the virus had died, nine probable deaths had been reported and 157 had been hospitalized.
Of the Fannin County School System’s 2,899 students, 12 have a current COVID-19 status, 11 are quarantined due to exposure at school and 30 are quarantined due to non-school exposure. There are currently 362 students enrolled in online learning that do not attend in-person classes.
Of the 472 system employees, less than 10 have a current COVID-19 status, none are quarantined due to an exposure at school and less than 10 are quarantined due to a non-school exposure.
The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) reported that Georgia has seen 819,730 confirmed cases, 15,148 virus related deaths, 2,228 probable deaths, 56,089 hospitalizations and 9,132 ICU admissions. Of these, 1,227 confirmed cases, 80 deaths and 50 hospitalizations were reported March 1.
In comparison, last week the state had seen 806,119 confirmed cases and 14,689 virus related deaths.
As of Monday, there had been 6,430 vaccinations administered in Fannin County, and 2,060,352 had been administered statewide. This statewide number included 1,282,034 of Dose 1 vaccinations and 778,318 of Dose 2.
Statewide, 1,195 providers were shipped vaccines and 2,481,175 total vaccines had been shipped. As of Monday, 83% of that amount had been administered.
According to the Georgia Geospatial Information Office, the United States has seen 28,626,826 confirmed cases and 513,745 deaths.
