Fannin school lunch prices up

Fannin County school lunch prices have increased by $0.10 this year.

Elementary school lunches will be $2.35, and middle and high school lunches will be $2.60.

The reduced student lunch price will remain at $0.40. Breakfast for all students will also remain free.

This increase was determined using the Paid Lunch Equity (PLE) tool, and approved by the Board of Education during their May meeting.

The school system also has a new online application for Free and Reduced Lunch Applications this year. While they are still accepting paper applications, they wanted to add this new option as well.

Nutrition Bookkeeper Kelly Gonzalez said, “It may be important for many families not familiar with the process because they never had to apply before.”
