Fannin County’s new school board members take oaths

    Fannin County’s three new Board of Education members were sworn into office during a special ceremony Friday, January 3, at the Fannin County Courthouse.

    Adam Born, Robert Patterson and Ashley Herendon Weeks all took their oaths of office that were administered by Probate Judge Scott Kiker.

    The trio of new members successfully unseated three incumbent school board members in the General Primary Election in May 2024. They will join the two remaining incumbents, Mike Cole and Bobby Bearden.

    The first meeting of the five, January’s regular school board meeting, is scheduled for Thursday, January 9, beginning at 5:30 pm. in the Staff Development Center off Old Highway 76 east of Blue Ridge.
