Elliot charged in Sunday night crash

Charges have now been filed against Hunter Ethan Elliott in connection with Sunday night’s crash in Blue Ridge that claimed the life of two-year-old Cohen Bryson.

Those charges include homicide by vehicle in the first degree and D.U.I./Alcohol.

A total of 14 warrants were sworn out shortly after noon by Georgia State Patrol Trooper Shane Matheson. Those warrants charge Elliott, 23, of 730 Tilley Road, Talking Rock, Georgia with:
•Misdemeanor, hit and run;
•Felony, homicide by vehicle, first degree;
•Misdemeanor, driving while license suspended/revoked;
•Two felony counts, serious injury by vehicle;
•Misdemeanor, distracted driving; restrictions on operation of wireless communication;
•Misdemeanor, open container violation;
•Misdemeanor, D.U.I./Alcohol;
•Misdemeanor, improper exhaust system;
•Misdemeanor, glazing of windows;
•Misdemeanor, following too closely;
•Misdemeanor, reckless driving;
•Misdemeanor, obstruction of an officer;
•Misdemeanor, glazing of windows (second warrant); and,
•Misdemeanor, operating vehicle with altered suspension.

The warrants also indicate that Joshua Bryson, the driver of the vehicle carrying Cohen Bryson, was seriously injured in the crash. The initial state patrol report of the accident said Joshua was not injured.
