Early voting underway at courthouse through Dec. 31

Early voting for the January 5, 2021, General Election Runoff is currently underway after it’s start Monday, December 14.

Those who have not already, but plan to early vote, will be able to do so on one of the following days: December 16 through December 18; December 21 through December 23; or, December 28 through December 31. 

The Elections Office will be open on these dates from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The runoff features three races total: two for United States Senate seats in Georgia and one for Public Service Commission District 4.

Republican Incumbent Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue have been challenged by Democrats Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff respectively, and Republican Public Service Commissioner Incumbent Lauren Bubba McDonald, Jr. is facing Democrat Daniel Blackmon for the District 4 seat.

Those wishing to vote by Absentee Ballot must request one by January 1. Ballots can be requested online at  https://ballotrequest.sos.ga.gov using a Georgia Driver’s License or State ID. Ballots can be tracked online at www.Georgia.ballottrax.net. 

Voters can also check the status of their absentee ballot through their My Voter Profile on the Georgia Secretary of State’s website at www.sos.ga.gov. 

They can also call the Election Office at 706-632-7740, and they will check the status.

Absentee Ballots can be mailed or dropped off in the Ballot Box in front of the Fannin County Courthouse. The ballots must arrive by 7 p.m. January 5 in order to be counted.

All precincts will be open on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
