Fannin County voters have a few more days to early vote in the General Primary run-off before Election Day Tuesday, August 11.
Early voting will continue through Friday, August 7, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
According to Election Supervisor Mary Ann Connor, social distancing will continue to be practiced during early voting and election day voting.
“We will be practicing social distancing, have a sanitizing table set up and will also be sanitizing the office and voting equipment throughout the day,” Connor said.
Those who voted in the general primary must vote using the same ballot style.
“If you voted in the June 9, 2020, General Primary you must vote the same ballot style you selected then, with the exception of Nonpartisan. They will be allowed to select either party’s ballot style,” Connor said. “If you did not vote in the June 9, 2020, General Primary, then either ballot style can be chosen.”
Two races will appear on the Republican ballot.
Challenger Jamie Hensley will face incumbent Stan Helton in the Fannin County Board of Commissioners chairman race, while Andrew Clyde and Matt Gurtler will attempt to succeed Doug Collins in the 9th Congressional District.
The Democratic party will also see a run-off for the 9th Congressional District seat as Devin Pandy and Brooke Siskin are both seeking their party’s nomination.
As of Friday, July 31, the elections office has seen 665 early voters and 491 absentee ballots returned.
