Downtown market to open June 6

The Downtown Blue Ridge Market opens this Saturday, June 6 for the 2020 season.

The market, which is located on West Main Street in front of the Fannin County Courthouse, will be open each Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. through the end of November.

All items available at the market are produced, made, baked, or grown in the local tri-state area. Items include tie-dyed apparel, hand-crafted children’s toys, bird houses, metal planters, jewelry and other items made by local craftsmen.

The market has certain regulations in place to comply with guidelines associated with COVID-19.

Every vendor will have hand sanitizer at their booth, and they ask that everyone use it before touching items in their booths.

No food samples will be allowed at the present time.

Masks are not required to sell or buy, but market organizers are pro-mask and some vendors may have a mask requirement to enter.

Social distance requirements will be enforced, and no crowds will be allowed to gather in booths. Spacing between booths will be utilized.

The market is still recruiting vendors for this season. Those interested in applying  can contact blueridgefarmersmarket@gmail.com or call 706-492-1152 and ask for Tina.

The market fee is $3 per week. Vendors do not have to commit to coming every week, and they do not have to pay for weeks they are not at the market.
