Copper Basin Elementary School bookkeeper Amy Goode takes a load of groceries to a vehicle during the school’s food distribution Thursday, March 19, at the Hoist House in Ducktown. School administrators and teachers usually coordinate the drive at the school, but due to the school closing, moved the event to make sure those in need were served.

Gerome Smith waits for the next vehicle to arrive, Thursday, March 19, as Copper Basin Elementary School’s regular food distribution moved to the Hoise House. Smith is one of the many CBES teachers who, along with administrators and other school employees, volunteered their time for the effort.
