An 18-year-old Fannin County man was denied bond Monday morning, December 18, less than two weeks after being freed from custody.
Kayden Ja’Quan Hodges, 18, of 55 Cherrywood Court, Blue Ridge, was first arrested December 5 on a charge of Sexual Battery. A December 16 arrest for Aggravated Stalking involved the victim from that arrest.
Fannin County Chief Magistrate Judge Brian Jones denied bond for the December 16 arrest, meaning Hodges will remain held in the Fannin County Jail pending an appearance before a Superior Court Judge.
Jones had set a $1,000 bond following Hodges’ initial arrest, with the condition he was to have no contact with his victim.
Blue Ridge Police Officer Peter Tinkman arrested Hodges on the Aggravated Stalking charge, the warrant indicating he had violated his bond condition by having contact with the victim at a business in Blue Ridge.
The warrant that led to Hodges’ first arrest accused him of inappropriately touching a teenage girl. The alleged incident took place December 1 on the Fannin County High School campus where both the suspect and victim were students. The warrant was sworn out by School Resource Officer Commander Lieutenant Darvin Couch December 4 following an investigation.
Under school system policy, Hodges was not allowed to return to the high school, but was instead allowed to attend alternative school.
