    Kick off this summer with a new four legged friend.

    Fannin County Animal Control has several dogs at the facility that would make a great summertime advent- ture companion.

    The featured dog this week is a female, Beagle mix.

    This girl loves being outside playing or spending time with people.

    She was found on Mountain View Lane, in McCaysville, May 27.

    All dogs taken to Animal Control are housed at the facility until they are reclaimed or adopted.

    This past week, six dogs were taken in and one was adopted.

    Dog Gone Rescue took two, Forsyth County Humane Society took two dogs, and Homeward Bound took one.

    Volunteers are welcome to visit, walk and play with dogs at the facility during business hours.

    The Animal Control facility is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

    After those hours, officers follow up on community concerns and respond to stray calls.
