71 new COVID-19 cases reported over two weeks in Fannin

Fannin County has seen an additional 71 cases of COVID-19 over the last two weeks as of Monday, November 16.

This brings the county’s total up to 907 positive cases since the pandemic began. Thirty of those people who had contracted the virus have died, six probable deaths have been reported and 80 have been hospitalized. 

In comparison, last week the county had seen 864 positive cases as of Monday, Nov. 9. Twenty-nine people had died, seven probable deaths had been reported and 77 had been hospitalized. 

Of the Fannin County School System’s 2,894 students, less than 10 have a current COVID-19 status, 10 are quarantined due to exposure at school and 17 are quarantined due to non-school exposure. There are currently 419 students enrolled in online learning that do not attend in-person classes. Of the 472 system employees, less than 10 have a current COVID-19 status, none are quarantined due to an exposure at school and none are quarantined due to non-school exposure.

The Georgia Department of Public Health reported that Georgia has seen 387,930 confirmed cases, 8,471 virus related deaths, 496 probable deaths, 33,265 hospitalizations and 6,229 ICU admissions. Of these, 990 confirmed cases, nine deaths and 24 hospitalizations were reported November 16. Last week the state had seen 374,181 confirmed cases and 8,223 virus related deaths.

According to the Georgia Geospatial Information Office, the United States has seen 11,106,539 confirmed cases, 246,638 deaths and 4,185,549 recoveries.
