206 COVID-19 cases added to Fannin total

Fannin County has seen an additional 206 cases of COVID-19 over the last two weeks as of Monday, January 11.

This brings the county’s total up to 1,455 positive cases since the pandemic began. Thirty-seven of those people who had contracted the virus have died, seven probable deaths have been reported and 125 have been hospitalized. 

In comparison, last week the county had seen 1,356 positive cases total as of Monday, January 4. Thirty-six people had died, seven probable deaths had been reported and 112 had been hospitalized. 

Of the Fannin County School System’s 2,908 students, less than 10 have a current COVID-19 status, less than 10 are quarantined due to exposure at school and 59 are quarantined due to non-school exposure. There are currently 330 students enrolled in online learning that do not attend in-person classes.

Of the 472 system employees, 11 have a current COVID-19 status, none are quarantined due to an exposure at school and less than 10 are quarantined due to non-school exposure.

The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) reported that Georgia has seen 642,712 confirmed cases, 10,299 virus related deaths, 1,176 probable deaths, 44,742 hospitalizations and 7,744 ICU admissions. 

Of these, 6,360 confirmed cases, 17 deaths and 107 hospitalizations were reported January 11. 

In comparison, last week the state had seen 591,106 confirmed cases and 9,900 virus related deaths.

As of Monday, there were 1,481 providers across the state enrolled to administer the COVID-19 vaccines, Pfizer and Moderna, and 183,870 vaccines had been administered in Georgia. 

DPH reported that out of the 353,925 allocated Pfizer vaccines for Georgia, 261,300 had been shipped, and out of the 360,000 allocated Moderna vaccines allocated for Georgia, 294,500 had been shipped. 

According to the Georgia Geospatial Information Office, the United States has seen 22,505,213 confirmed cases and 375,086 deaths.
