101 new COVID-19 cases reported during last two weeks

Fannin County has seen an increase of 101 cases of COVID-19 over the last two weeks as of Monday, October 12.

This brings the county’s total up to 752 positive cases since the pandemic began. Twenty-eight of those people who had contracted the virus have died, and 64 have been hospitalized. 

Of the Fannin County School System’s 2,881 students, less than 10 have a current COVID-19 status, 60 are quarantined due to exposure at school and 10 are quarantined due to non-school exposure.

Of the 472 system employees, less than 10 have a current COVID-19 status, none are quarantined due to an exposure at school and less than 10 are quarantined due to non-school exposure.

There are 430 students enrolled in online learning who do not attend in-person classes.

The Georgia Department of Public Health reported that Georgia has seen 332,311 confirmed cases, 7,429 virus related deaths, 29,656 hospitalizations and 5,514 ICU admissions. Of these, 937 confirmed cases, 14 deaths and 21 hospitalizations were reported October 12.

According to the Georgia Geospatial Information Office, the United States has seen 7,777,437 confirmed cases, 214,842 deaths and 3,075,077 recoveries.
