Roughly 1,000 children were able to wake up Christmas morning to gifts thanks to the Marine Corps Detachment #1438 Toys for Tots.
In four hours, the volunteers served 130 families for Christmas Thursday, December 18.
That number increased over the next couple of days as volunteers helped distribute the toys to families at Fannin County Family Connection.
Coordinator Jim Brumbelow said despite the set days, they do everything in their power to accommodate those needing gifts for children.
Additionally, the group hosted a Grandma’s Shopping Day, allowing grandparents to pick gifts for children in their care.
They also provided gifts for the Open Arms Home for Children, Fannin County Shop With A Cop children and clients of the North Georgia Mountain Crisis Network.
