Freedom for Fido volunteers completed and celebrated their 200th free fence build Sunday, January 11.
Volunteers at the event built a fenced in area on a portion of the owners yard for the dog, Kie, to run free in a safe area. They also built a covered awning for Kie to have a place to retreat from the rain and weather.
This fence build marked Freedom for Fido’s 200th fence build since their founding in April of 2019. In doing this they have given 536 dogs a safe, fenced in area to run free without a chain.
Freedom for Fido’s mission is to get dogs off chains by building free fences for pet owners in need. They are a registered 501(c)(3) charity in Blue Ridge, but they help owners and pets in surrounding areas as well.
They are always looking for new volunteers. For more information about volunteering, donating, or registering for the program, visit freedomforfido.com.
