Copper Basin High School (CBHS) held its annual Veterans Day program Tuesday, November 11, to honor and recognize the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
The ceremony opened with a welcome from Cora Kimsey, followed by the Presentation of the Colors by Savanna Bloodworth, Elizabeth Millwood, Ivy Stokes and Addison Cochran. Riley Akens led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance, and the CBHS band performed a rendition of the National Anthem.
Aidan Phillips shared the origins of Veterans Day, explaining the history and purpose of the national holiday. The band then honored each branch of the military with a patriotic performance of the Marches of the Armed Forces.
Guest speaker Retired Captain Donovan Holloway Jr., of the United States Marine Corps delivered a message about service, dedication and patriotism.
Student Kloie Ballew followed with “From War to Home: A Marine’s Journey of Honor,” a heartfelt tribute to the courage and resilience of America’s veterans.
The program concluded with the band performing “God Bless America” before the Retiring of the Colors. Kimsey gave closing remarks and extended a special thank you to the Class of 2026 for helping make the ceremony possible.
The event provided an opportunity for students, staff, and community members to come together in gratitude for those who have served our country.
