Larry William Watson, age 72, of Epworth passed away Monday, August 2, 2021, at his home. Mr. Watson was born November 4, 1948 in Blue Ridge to the late Delmar A. Watson and Lois Keener Watson. He worked until retirement as a maintenance mechanic for Tyson Foods and was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church in Ellijay, Georgia.

He is survived by his wife, Ellene Watson of Epworth; a son, Michael Watson of Paint Rock, Tennessee; a daughter, Angela (Chad) Young of Chatsworth, Georgia; brothers, Edwin Watson of Epworth and Daniel (Jeanie) Watson of Epworth; a sister, Martha Breeden of Blue Ridge; sister-in-laws, Shirley Smith and Virginia Davis; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were Thusday, August 5, 2021, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Akins Funeral Home with Rev. Delmar Davenport and Rev. Blaine Phillips officiating. Music was provided by the Hipps Chapel Church Choir.

Interment followed in the Hipps Chapel Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Billy Joe Postell, Jason Postell, Arnold Postell, Johnson Foster, R.C. Watson, Charles Dunn, Chad Young, and Bobby Millsaps. Honorary pallbearers included: Zeke McPherson, Kary McClain, Harold Worley, and Lloyd Worley.
