Harold Edward Dean Jr., age 84, of Blue Ridge, passed away August 5, 2021, at Heritage Assisted Living in Marietta, Georgia.

Harold was born December 1, 1936, in McCaysville, to the late Harold Dean Sr. and the late Mary Viola Adams Dean. Mr. Dean served as a Sargent in the United States Army’s 101 First Airborne from 1954 until 1957. He served as a licensed director of Arthur Murray Dance Studios in Atlanta, Savannah and Macon with his brother William. He was owner and operator of Dean Aviation, Inc, where he did sales and flight training. After moving back to Blue Ridge, Harold owned and operated Dean Heating and Air. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Dean Sr.; his mother, Mary Viola Adams Dean; and his son, James Dean.

Survivors include his daughters, Janice Rodgers and Aimee McCormick; son, Michael Dean; sister, Sarah Breedlove; and brothers, William Dean and Charles Buchanan.

The family received friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Sunday, August 8, 2021, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, August 8, 2021, at 3 p.m. at the Chastain Memorial Park, Blue Ridge, with Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Military honors were conducted graveside by the North Georgia Honor Guard.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge.
