The Blue Ridge Knights of Columbus held the 2024 District Free Throw Championship at the Fannin County Recreation Center Saturday, January 20.
A total of 59 participants competed in eleven age and gender categories, with the winners qualifying for the Georgia state competition in March.
Each competitor shot 15 free throws and the category winners were determined by the number of total shots made.
The nine year old winner was Tanner Jackson of Mineral Bluff.
Ten year old champs were Carver Cole of Blue Ridge and Morgan Akens of Copperhill.
Alexandria Evans and Lee Stuart, both from Blue Ridge, were the 11 year old winners.
Winners in the 12 year old bracket were Bentley Cole of Blue Ridge and Della Simmons from Epworth.
The 13 year old champs were Ethan Majors of Blairsville and Allie Pott of Blue Ridge.
14 years old winners were Levi White from McCaysville and Kloie Ballew of Copperhill.
The Blue Ridge Knights thank the Fannin County Recreation Center staff members for their outstanding cooperation and assistance in the staging of this event, with special recognition to John Spargo and Lorraine Panter.
