Trout Trot draws over 140 runners

The annual Trout Trot, part of the Riverwalk Run Series, brought over 140 runners, with 111 finishing the 5K race through McCaysville and Copperhill this past Saturday, April 29.

John Metzgar of Hayesville, North Carolina, was first to cross the finish line in a time of 19:37:7.

The average per mile pace set by the 111 runners in the 3.1 mile race was 11:56.

The 59 females who finished the race set a 12:57 pace while the 52 male finishers turned in a 10:46 average pace.

Registration is now open at raceroster.com for the other two races in the series, the Walk the Line and the Bigfoot Boogey.

Walk the Line will start at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 15.

The Bigfoot Boogey will be held Saturday, October 28, with the starting gun sounding at 2 p.m.

The races were created by the McCaysville Business Association.
