Track & Field honors presented

The Spring 2025 Fannin County High School Rebel and Lady Rebel Track & Field teams had their banquet on Wednesday, May 21, at Watkins Barn & Venue.

Team accomplishments were recognized including the Rebels and Lady Rebels both finishing seventh at the State Championships, the girls 4x800 meter relay team winning back-to-back state championships, and Braxton Cheatham winning a state championship in the 400 meter dash.

Qualifying athletes received varsity letters and athletes with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher received academic certificates.

Sophomore Katelyn Clark and sophomore Aiden Jones received the highest GPA Awards.

Alden Falls, Macy Heaton, Katherine Cheatham, Rob Kantner, Chad Galloway, Jeff Kuna, Dr. Lucas Roof, and Miranda Roof were all recognized for their hard work as coaches.

Various team awards were also presented.

Freshman Ryan Preston received the Rebel Rookie Award.

Sophomore Kate Freeman received the Lady Rebel Rookie Award.

Senior Cooper Hilliard received the Multi-Event Award.

Sophomore Annaleigh Cheatham received the Multi-Event Award.

Senior Lawson Sullivan received the Relay Award.

Junior Ava Acker received the Relay Award.

Senior Braden Taylor received the Most Improved Track Award.

Sophomore Kensley Pickelsimer received the Most Improved Track Award.

Senior Cohutta Brown received the Most Improved Field Award.

Sophomore Presley Daves received the Most Improved Field Award.

Sophomore Isaac Watkins received the Positive Athlete Award.

Junior Adia Galloway received the Positive Athlete Award.

Senior Cooper Born received the Athletes’ Choice Award.

Senior Caylee Gaddis received the Athletes’ Choice Award.

Junior Braxton Cheatham received the Most Valuable Athlete Award.

Junior Karli Sams received the Most Valuable Athlete Award.

Senior Luke Holsonback received the Coaches’ Award.

Senior Lindsey Holloway received the Coaches’ Award.

All of the coaches are extremely proud of these athletes for their hard work and dedication throughout this season and look forward to the Spring 2026 track and field season.
