The Fannin County Sports Hall of Fame honored several Fannin County High School athletes when the organization held its annual banquet earlier this summer.
Lindsey Holloway and Courtney Davis were named the Female Co-Athletes of the Year, Zechariah Prater was chosen as the Male Athlete of the Year, and the 4x800 meter Girls Team was recognized as the Team of the Year.
Holloway ran the first leg of the state champion 4x800 meter relay team. In the state championships, she placed second in the 3200 meter run and third in the 1600 meter run.
Davis wrapped up a stellar four year career for the Lady Rebels basketball team having set the all-time scoring record, and winning multiple all-region and all-state honors.
Prater placed second in the state championship 3200 meter run with a time of 9:49:03.
The 4x800 meter relay team of Holloway, Carlee Holloway, Ava Acker and Karli Sams were recognized for their state championship, which brought home history to Fannin County High School’s Track & Field program.
Lindsey Holloway ran the first leg of that race, Carlee Holloway the second, Acker the third and Sams the anchor leg. The four won the race with a time of 9:46:00. The win put them in the top 20 of the entire state, regions A through 7A.
