Fannin County High School (FCHS) senior Seth Reece is officially a Black Knight. Reece signed with Army football Wednesday, December 15, at the FCHS Cafeteria surrounded by family and friends. Reece had multiple offers, but ended up chosing the Army over the Air Force.
Reece really came on as a dominant force for the Rebels in the playoffs his junior year, and continued to make strides his senior year with the Rebels.
In his senior season, Reece was named 7AA Player of the Year; 2,489 total yards, 207 yards per game average; 1,116 passing yards; 1,202 rushing yards; 171 yards receiving yards and 31 total touchdowns.
In Reece’s career as a Rebel he has had 30 wins 15 losses back-to-back Region Champions, back-to-back 10 win seasons, first winning season in triple A football, and making playoff appearances in all four years.
Fannin County Rebel Football Head Coach Chad Cheatham said, “Seth you have earned it, congratulations. Congratulations to your family, congratulations to you men (team) for helping make this happen. Congratulations to you faculty, for helping make this happen. Today is bigger than football, today is about duty, honor and county.”
FCHS principal Dr. Ramsey also spoke, saying “I just want to say how proud we are of you, this is a tremendous accomplishment. You are part of something historical and so big. We are very proud of the way you represent us and Fannin County. We appreciate your family. This does not happen on your own, you have a great support system in your family.”
Reece let everyone know he was thankful, saying, “I’d like to thank God, my family, my friends and coaches. I would not be without any of you. Like coach Cheatham said it is bigger than football today when I sign my name to defend this country. It is an honor. God Bless America, beat Navy.”
Reece will join the Black Knights for the 2022-2023 season.
