Rebels top Dragons

The Fannin Rebel soccer team welcomed the visiting Pepperell Dragons for a region match up Friday, April 16.

With a berth in the playoffs already secured, the Rebels looked to finish strong with a win to close out the regular season, and they did just that as captain and goal scoring aficionado Andrew Jones had a four-goal performance bringing his seasonal total to 19.

With that total, Jones ties the record for third most goals in a Rebel soccer season.

Jones also moves into third place all time in overall goals scored for the Rebels. Three additional goals were scored by the Rebels in the contest.

Junior Garrett Mervine scored from the wing position with a nice goal, while super-freshmen Blake Summers added his second goal of the season. Finally, freshmen Tunner “T-Dawg” Michael added a seventh goal, his first of his high school career. Rebel stadium was electric with applause as “T-Dawg” beat the Pepperell keeper, and Fannin coasted to the win.
