The Fannin County Rebels baseball team scored five runs in the seventh inning, which helped them defeat region opponent Coosa, 8-1, Tuesday, March 18.
Casen Bailey singled to score two runs, Carson Callihan singled to score one run, Colton Gray hit a sacrifice fly to score one run, and Paul Stroemer Jr. double to score one run.
The Rebels opened the scoring in the fourth after Gray grounded out, scoring one run.
Bristol Hughes hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the fifth for Fannin.
Mason McDaniel helped earn the win for their Rebels. The pitcher allowed three hits and one run (zero earned) over six innings, striking out nine and walking one.
Kaden Davis also pitched one inning of shutout ball for Fannin County in relief. The pitcher allowed zero hits, striking out two and walking none.
The Rebels tallied 10 hits in the game. Gray and Stroemer Jr. were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Fannin. Stroemer Jr. led the Rebels with three hits in four at bats. Callihan and Hughes each collected multiple hits.
The Rebels ran wild on the base paths, piling up four stolen bases for the game. Callihan led with two stolen bases.
The Coosa Eagles collected three hits and didn’t commit a single error.
