The Coosa Eagles put the bat on the ball against Fannin Monday, April 5, as Fannin fell to the Eagles 8-3.
Logan Hughes toed the rubber for the Rebels to start the game, pitching three and two-thirds innings, striking out for batters. Jordan Bennett, and Connor Martin came on in relief, and the duo combined for one strike-out.
Coosa jumped out to an early lead, scoring two runs in the first inning and one run in the second.
Fannin could not cross home plate in the first and second as they trailed the Eagles 3-0.
The Rebels held Coosa scoreless in the top of the third inning as they began to chip away at the lead.
Brady Martin crushed a triple to get on base in the bottom of the third, and later scored on a RBI by Chance Stacy to shave the lead 3-1.
The Eagles scored two runs in the top of the fourth before the Rebels could get off the field to lead 5-1.
Landon Norton and Jason Pearson scored for Fannin in the bottom of the fourth as they trailed Coosa 5-3.
Unfortunately for Fannin, they could not generate any more runs in the game. Coosa scored one run in the top of the sixth, and two runs in the top of the seventh to win the game 8-3.
