Win: Rebels post 13 hits in contest
The Fannin County Rebels baseball team swept a pair of games in dominating fashion over the Coosa Eagles Friday, March 21.
In the first game of the double header, the Rebels won big 10-0.
The Rebels first got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Tucker Dockery walked, Elijah Weaver singled down the right field line, and Carson Callihan singled to center field, each scoring one run.
Three more Rebels runs crossed the plate in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 10-0. Paul Stroemer Jr. homered to left field, scoring two runs, and Drew Barfield singled, scoring one run.
Bristol Hughes helped earn the win for Fannin. The pitcher gave up zero hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking one.
The Rebels collected 10 hits in the game. Stroemer Jr. provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Fannin with three runs batted in. The first baseman went 1-for-4 on the day. Weaver, Callihan, and Barfield each collected two hits for the Rebels.
The Rebels also had a strong eye at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game. Eli Queen and Colton Gray led the team with two walks each. Barfield stole two bases. They ran wild on the base paths, accumulating six stolen bases for the game.
During the second game of the double header, Colton Gray was dominant on the hill, as the starter rang up 12 strikeouts in the Rebels’s 12-0 victory. Gray gave up zero hits and zero runs over five innings while walking two.

The Rebels scored six runs on four hits in the bottom of the second inning. Gray singled, scoring one run, Stroemer Jr. was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Gavin Davis doubled, scoring two runs, Bristol Hughes hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Casen Bailey singled, scoring one run.
Fannin added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Karson Brown walked, Eli Queen singled down the left field line, and Rylin Davis singled to center field, each scoring one run.

The team was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Tucker Dockery had the most chances in the field with seven.
