Well folks, it’s that time of the year again. It is time to gear up for another season of the Fearless Football Forecasters. If 2023 is anything like the previous seasons, it should be exciting all the way to the end. There is a lot of movement going on in the world of College Football, as teams are moving to new conferences, which in some ways is sad, but in other ways, it should bring more excitement and unpredictability to the game. With the transfer portal and NIL, the game has changed forever and the old days of geographical rivalries and games are fading quickly. However, it’s the game we all love so just bring it on!
Speaking of predictions, Scott Ramsey will return to the FFF panel again in 2023 to defend his 2022 title, and to see if he can keep his “dynasty” rolling, although that would be a little presumptuous. Ramsey has won three championships in the last five years, 2018, 2020, and 2022, so a dynasty isn’t that far-fetched. Last season he won with a record of 137-55, beating the defending champion at the time, Eddie O’Neal, and long time panelist Kevin Panter, by two games. Ramsey fully believes he is ready to go back-to-back in 2023 and be the class of the FFF crew. “I am excited as we get ready to kick off another season of Fearless Forecasters or we could change the name to “Ramsey Reigns.” I know some people have thrown around the word dynasty when talking about my sustained success and while that does have some accuracy to it, I will stay away from that. I want to wish my fellow competitors good luck this season. Maybe this is the year Kevin finally gets over the hump. I mean probably not, but stranger things have happened. I hear rumors that he tried to partner with Eddie to see if they could beat me but Eddie is throwing the full weight of the Rec Department behind Spargo this year. He needs something positive to happen after all the sanctions against his beloved Vols. Andy Whitener gained a son in law this year so maybe he will have some help. However it goes it will be another fun filled season of fearless forecasters but I think we all know the outcome will be one that has become all too familiar. Ramsey Reigns!”
We will see if Ramsey can back up his words as we get the season going on September 1. The rest of the Fearless Forecasters will stay intact for another season as John Spargo, Suzianne Pass, Jeff Grimes, Brandon Holloway, and Andy Whitener all return, along with O’Neal and Panter, to see if they can knock Ramsey off of his perch and be the new champion in 2023. There’s only one way you can find out, and that is to join us each week and enter the weekly football contest to see not only who wins the crown this season, but to see if you can beat the FFF crew each and every week. We look forward to seeing you beginning September 1 as another great season of High School, College, and NFL football gets underway. Stay safe and we’ll see you soon!
