Mercer shines

    Thomas Mercer represented Fannin County High School Saturday, May 15, at the Georgia High School Association 2021 Track and Field State Championship. Mercer competed well, finishing second overall in 2A Boys 300 Meter Hurdles Finals.

    Aaron McFadden from Lovett was the first place finisher with a time of 39.39, which was a meet record. Mercer was right on the heels of McFadden, finishing Runner-Up with a time of 39.84.

    Alexander Swann from Pace Academy finished third, clocking a 40.59, while Jyrian Crosby placed fourth with a time of 40.92. Trevon Walker, of Swainsboro,  Georgia, finished fifth.
