The Fannin County Lady Rebels started the first round of the 2021 GHSA State Girls Soccer Tournament Thursday, April 22. Fannin hosted the Elite Scholars Academy and dominated the game from start to finish, topping the Loyal Knights 10-0 to advance to the next round.
Ana Arvidson had an eye-popping five goals in the contest, scoring her first two within 15 minutes in the first half to give the Lady Rebels the lead.
Madison Ponton netted two goals as well, while Annabel Lillard, Hannah Sosebee, and Kinsley Sullivan scored on goal each.
The Lady Rebels kept the ball on the Loyal Knights side of the field for most of the game as goalkeeper Rachael Jessen had one save in the contest. Jessen also had one assist, followed by Lillard with two, and Sosebee, Arvidson, Lindsay Turner and Jasmine Anderson notching one assist each.
The Lady Rebels will travel to Bremen Wednesday, April 28, to take on the number one seed Bremen Blue Devils.
