The Fannin County Lady Rebels basketball team traveled to Cherokee Bluff Tuesday, January 21, for a region rumble.
The Lady Rebels played well and dominated all four quarters to churn out a 69-38 win over the Lady Bears.
Olivia Sisson led the Lady Rebels in the first, scoring eight points on four, two-point baskets.
Morgan Holt drained a three ball and Reagan York netted a two-point bucket to give Fannin a 13-point quarter. Cherokee Bluff was able to score 16 points to lead 16-13.
The Lady Rebels found their rhythm in the second quarter, as Abby Ledford scored 10 points on two, three-point buckets, a two-point basket and two free throws.
Mackenzie Johnson and York scored a three-point bucket each and Saidee Collins worked the paint for a two-point bucket as Fannin tallied 18 points in the second quarter.
The Lady Bears scored 10 as the Lady Rebels claimed a 31-26 lead at halftime. Fannin County came out strong after the half, with Holt scoring eight points on a three ball, two, two-point buckets and a free throw. Becca Ledford and York combined for eight points on two, two-point buckets each, while Abby Ledford sank a deep three-point bucket.
Johnson scored a two-point basket to cap a 21-point third quarter for the Lady Rebels.
Fannin held Cherokee Bluff to 11 points in the third as the Lady Rebels increased their lead 52-37 to start the fourth.
Becca Ledford scored eight points in the fourth quarter on two, two-point buckets and four free throws. York and Holt netted a two-point bucket each, followed by Jenna Young and Paige Foresman converting two free throws each.
Johnson converted on free throw to cap a 17-point fourth quarter. Fannin’s defense was phenomenal in the fourth, holding the Lady Bears to one point as the Lady Rebels won the game 69-38.
