The Fannin County Lady Rebels soccer team hosted the 7A North Forsyth Lady Raiders on a cold night Thursday, February 13. Both teams played very physical, with neither team scoring in the first half. Fannin and North Forsyth battled in the second half, with the Lady Rebels scoring first as Ana Arvidson received a nice pass from Annabel Lillard and knocked in a goal around the six minute mark.
North Forsyth rallied however, scoring a quick goal with around two minutes left to tie the game up 1-1, where it remained until the final buzzer.
Goalkeeper Rachel Jessen had seven saves in the game.
Ashley Frye, Chelsey Frye, Sarah Sosebee and Ana Arvidson had one shot on the goal each, while Sydnie Jones had five.
Lady Rebel head coach Nancy Jessen was proud of her team’s performance saying, “I am extremely proud of the girls performance in the game last night. I am excited to see what they will accomplish this season. Special thanks to everyone that came out and supported the girls team and FCHS Soccer.“
