The Fannin County High School Lady Rebel Track & Field Team continue for their 1A Division 1 Region 7 championship.
On the way to the title, several individual Lady Rebels and relay teams placed in the top four in their respective event, qualifying for the State Sectional Meet. That competition will take place Saturday, May 3, at Bremen High School.
The State Sectional Meet is equivalent to making it to the State Playoffs.
The following qualified for the event:
•Karli Sams: Region Champion in the 800 meter run, Region Champion in the 1600 meter run, and second place in the 3200 meter run;
•Lindsey Holloway: Region Champion in the 3200 meter run, second in the 1600 meter run, and fourth in the 800 meter run;
•Presley Daves: Region Champion in Discus and third in Shot Put;
•Caylee Gaddis: Second in Long Jump and second in Triple Jump;
•Adia Galloway: second in Pole Vault;
•Ava Acker: third in the 800 meter run;
•Annaleigh Cheatham: third in the 300 meter hurdles;
•Sadie Patton: third in High Jump;
•Sydney Ford: fourth in the 1600 meter run and fourth in the 3200 meter run;
•Sydney German: fourth in Discus and fourth in Shot Put;
•Kate Freeman: fourth in Pole Vault;
•4x200m Relay Team made up of Airianna Galloway, Annaleigh Cheatham, Caylee Gaddis, and Ava Acker: third place and set a school record with a time of 1:53.20
•4x800 meter Relay Team made up of Lindsey Holloway, Kensley Pickelsimer, Ava Acker, and Karli Sams: Region Champions and currently 18th in the entire state including all classifications (A - AAAAAA) with a time of 9:59; and,
•4x400 meter Relay Team made up of Airianna Galloway, Sadie Patton, Annaleigh Cheatham, and Ava Acker: second place.
The following athletes met Milesplit Standards:
•Karli Sams: Milesplit Bronze Level Standard in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:23.24;
•Karli Sams: Milesplit Bronze Level Standard in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:28.23; and,
•Lindsey Holloway: Milesplit Bronze Level Standard in the 3200 meter run with a time of 11:53.74.
