The Fannin County Lady Rebels soccer team continues to climb the ladder of success, sporting a 5-0 overall record, 2-0 in region play and a sixth place ranking in the state.
The Lady Rebels’ most recent victory came against Dalton Academy Tuesday, February 15, in Dalton. Fannin came home with a 10-0 shutout to keep their perfect season intact.
Stephanie Kirk scored the first two goals for the Lady Rebels. She was followed by six Lady Rebels who put goals on the scoreboard.
Karmah Eaton scored the third goal followed by Taylor Poland who gave Fannin a 4-0 lead with the help of an assist from Kirk.
Ashley Amaro-Campuzano, with an assist from Poland, scored goal number five.
Poland then placed the kick that netted the sixth goal.
Mazie Goble scored the first of two consecutive goals, with the help of Kinsley Sullivan the first time, to put the Rebels up 8-0.
Sullivan scored goal number nine on her own, then Aaliyah Green capped off the night with goal number 10.
Defensively, it was Hannah McSwain putting the brakes on Dalton with four steals. Sullivan was joined by Cali Tuggle with three steals each.
The coaches poll, released Monday, February 14, by Eurosportscoreboard ranked the Lady Rebels sixth in AA in Georgia.
Fannin’s next match is Friday, February 25, at 5 p.m. against region foe Pepperell.
The girls will take the home field first followed by the boys match at 7 p.m.
