Lady Rebel tennis climb to spot in Sweet 16 playoffs

The Fannin County High School Lady Rebel tennis team has advanced to the Sweet 16 of the Georgia State Tennis Championships.

A first round win over North Cobb Christian Academy (NCCA) propelled the local team into Sweet 16 action this week.

Taking on NCCA, three singles players swept their matches. Anna Beth Minear went 6-4 and 6-1, Izzie Jabaley scored wins of 6-2 and 6-2, and Lucia Martinez posted victories of 6-1 and 6-0.

The Lady Rebels doubles teams of Kendell Clore and Sydney German, and Maddie Schueneman and Kendra fell in close matches.

Fannin County finished the season in second place in the region with a 9-4 record.
