Lady Rebel defense key in Christian Heritage win

The Fannin County Lady Rebels continued their winning streak as they handled Christian Heritage 48-31 Tuesday, December 3.

The Lady Rebels had an eight-point first quarter as Natalie Thomas drained a long-range three pointer, followed by Abby Ledford and Reagan York netted a two-point basket each. Mackenzie Johnson fought her way to the free throw line, converting one free throw. The Lady Rebels held the Lady Lions to just one point in the first as Fannin led 8-1 to start the second quarter.

Olivia Sisson came alive in the second quarter, muscling four points off of two, two-point baskets in the paint.

Thomas knocked in another long-range three ball as well to give the Lady Rebels seven points in the second quarter.

The Lady Lions also scored seven points in the second as Fannin held on to a 15-8 lead at halftime.

The Lady Rebels erupted for 15 in the third quarter as Thomas led Fannin with four points on a three-point bucket and a free throw. York and Abby Ledford scored a three-point basket each. Sisson scored three points in the third on a two-point bucket and a free throw, while Becca Ledford got a two-point bucket to fall. The Lady Lions scored just seven points in the third thanks to the Lady Rebel defense as Fannin led 30-15 to start the fourth quarter.

The Lady Rebels continued their hot hand in the fourth as Sisson scored six points on three, two-point buckets. York scored a two-point basket, as well as converted two free throws, while Thomas made another three-point basket and converted a free throw.

Paige Foresman was able to net a two-point basket, while Becca Ledford capped the scoring for Fannin with two free throws. 

The Lady Rebels outscored the Lady Lions 17-16 as they topped Christian Heritage 48-31.
