Fannin County senior Miles Johnson chose to further his academic and football career Wednesday, February 5, signing to play football at the University of Georgia.
Johnson, who comes in at six foot five inches and 300 pounds, will only add to the Bulldogs’ powerful offensive line.
Johnson dominated the line of scrimmage in a tough region all four years of his high school football career and will continue to improve under the development of Kirby Smart and UGA Offensive line coach Matt Luke.
Johnson is known for playing with a mean streak, which is what it takes to be a dominant football player.
Fannin County football head coach Chad Cheatham was proud of Johnson saying, “It’s always a special day when you get to experience something like this, a lot of hard work, many years being on the football field goes into something like this. Long hours in the weight room, a lot of blood sweat and tears.”
“It’s not only big for Miles, it is big for Fannin County and big for our program, and I want to say thank you guys for letting me be a part of it.”
Johnson was thankful for the opportunity saying, “It has just been a wild ride to be honest with you all and I thank God for everything he has done for me.
I would not be able to be in the position I am today if it was not for him.”
Johnson also thanked his family, friends, coaches and teammates for supporting him. Johnson plans to join the Bulldogs in the fall.
