The Fannin County Rebels basketball team hosted region rival the North Hall Trojans Tuesday, January 14. The Rebels played a well rounded game, but North Hall was able to win the game with a 21-point third quarter as they topped Fannin 60-32.
Jerritt Holloway led the way for the Rebels in the first, as the senior found the bottom of the net on a long range three ball. Jalen Ingram and Andre Bivens worked the paint and scored a two-point basket each, while Miles Johnson bruised his way to the free throw stripe, converting two free throws for a nine point first quarter for the Rebels. North Hall was able to score 14 points to take a 14-9 lead.
The Rebels shared the ball on offense, as Cohutta Hyde, Ingram and Johnson scored a two-point basket each. Landon Norton converted one free throw in the second to cap a seven point quarter. The Trojans scored 16 points in the second to lead 30-16 at halftime.
Hyde took over the third quarter for the Rebels, scoring nine points on two, two-point buckets and five free throws. Brady Martin was able to get a two-point basket to drop to end an 11-point third quarter for Fannin.
North Hall scored 21 in the third to lead 51-27 at the start of the fourth quarter.
Fannin County scored five points in the fourth, with Eli Brisbay-Cochran and Johnson scoring a two-point bucket each, followed by a free throw from Dylan Collins.
The fourth quarter effort was not enough from Fannin as the Trojans scored nine points, topping the Rebels 60-32.
