The Fannin County High School Track & Field team banquet was held Wednesday, May 22, at Watkins Barn & Venue.
Team accomplishments were recognized including the girls Track & Field team making the podium and receiving a trophy at the Georgia High School Association AA State Championships by finishing fourth in the state.
Qualifying athletes received varsity letters and athletes with a GPA of 3.5 or higher received academic certificates.
The managers, seniors, and coaches were also recognized.
Andy Arp with the Fannin County Sports Hall of Fame presented Championship Rings to the following athletes:
Zechariah Prater - Fall 2023 Cross Country State Champion;
Cooper Born - Fall 2023 Weightlifting State Champion; and,
Girls 4x800m Relay Team - Spring 2024 Track & Field State Champions.
Various team awards were also given out to certain athletes.
Freshman Airianna Galloway received the Female Multi-Event Award.
Junior Braden Taylor won the Male Multi-Event Award.
Senior Carlee Holloway won the Female Relay Award.
Sophomore Brodey Angel received the Male Relay Award.
Sophomore Sydney German won the Female Most Improved Field Event Award.
Freshman Sydney Ford received the Female Most Improved Track Event Award.
Freshman Isaac Watkins won the Male Most Improved Field Event Award.
Sophomore Braxton Cheatham won the Male Most Improved Track Event Award.
Senior Stephanie Kirk and Freshman Jace Sanderson received the Female Positive Athlete Award.
Sophomore Gage Bryan received the Male Positive Athlete Award.
Sophomore Ava Acker won the Female Coaches’ Award
Junior Lawson Sullivan received the Male Coaches’ Award
Sophomore Karli Sams won the Female Athletes’ Choice Award.
Junior Cooper Born received the Male Athletes’ Choice Award.
Junior Lindsey Holloway won the Female Most Valuable Athlete Award.
Senior Zechariah Prater won the Male Most Valuable Athlete Award.
