Fannin track and field shines at meet

The Fannin County Track and Field team competed against Dawson and Lumpkin County Tuesday, April 20. Both the boys and girls did well, and shined in a lot of areas.

For the girls, Alayna Dockery placed fourth in Shot Put and Discus, while Carlee Holloway finished second in the 100 Meter Hurdles, while Macy Hawkins placed fourth.

Monica Cosentino placed second in the 800 Meter Relay, followed by Carlee Holloway finishing second in the 300 Meter Hurdles. Katie Thurman placed third in the 3200 Meter Relay. The Lady Rebels finished in second place in the 4x800 Relay.

On the boys side, Matthew Crowder placed first in Shot Put and Discus, while Slade Epperson finished third in the Discus.

Andre Bivens had an impressive day, placing second in the Long Jump, first in the Triple Jump, and First in the High Jump. Tyler Stevenson took home third place in the Pole Vault, followed by Austin Garland placing fourth.

Zachariah Prater finished third in the Men’s 1600 Meter Relay, while Nate Smith finished fourth in the Men’s 400 Meter Relay. Benjamin Bloch finished third in the Men’s 800 Meter Relay.

Thomas Mercer placed first in the Men’s 200 Meter Relay and first in the 300 Meter Hurdles, while James Mercer finished in fourth. Prater took home third place in the Men’s 3200 Meter Relay, and the Rebels finished third in the 4x800 Relay.
