The Fannin County High School track and field team recently competed in the region meet against region schools. Both the boys and girls did great, with the girls taking seventh place overall with 42 points, while the boys took third place with 82 points.
Some key placers include Thomas Mercer finishing first in the 300 Meter Hurdles, as well as the 110 Hurdles.
Matthew Crowder placed first in the Discus, while Zechariah Prater took third in the 800 Meter Run. Andre Bivens finished third in the Long Jump, and Austin Garland ranked third in the Pole Vault.
On the girls’ side, the Girls 4x800 Meter team that consists of Monica Consentino, Maci Hawkins, Carlee Holloway and Katie Thurman placed first. Holloway also took second in the 400 Meter Dash, while Cosentino took third in the 800 Meter Run.
