The Fannin County Rec Department football teams were all on the road Saturday, October 8. The Flag Football teams were in Lumpkin County, while the football teams were in Chestatee.
The Elementary Flag team defeated Lumpkin County by a score of 14-7, as Gracelyn Gray and Ryann King each scored a touchdown for the Lady Rebels. The Middle School team lost the first game of their doubleheader by a score of 6-0 to Lumpkin, but bounced back in a big way to defeat Dawson County 21-7 in the second game. Lynnex Patterson scored two touchdowns and Trinity Jackson added another one in the Fannin win, while Addyson Bradburn converted three extra points.
The Kindergarten/First grade team defeated Chestatee by a score of 38-6, as Lawson Grant, Ben Coffinger, Jack Ades, Joel Curtis, and Kell Patterson each found the end zone for the Rebels.
The Fannin second Grade team had a bye on Saturday,
In third grade action, Chestaee won by a score of 24-0, and the 4th Grade team lost by a score of 27-0.
The fifth grade Rebels won by a score of 15-0, as Aidan Majors found Clay Maddox for one touchdown and Branson Lance added a rushing touchdown.
In the sixth grade game, Brax Newton scored a rushing touchdown to go along with four passing touchdowns, as they defeated Chestatee by a score of 32-6. Toccoa Pugh, Tristan Bernier, Kendrick Pack, and Hunter Kennedy all had a receiving touchdown from Newton.
Fannin County will have an open week next Saturday, October 15, and will be back in action Saturday, October 22, as they host Pickens County. The Flag Football teams also have a bye, and will begin playoffs Saturday, October 22, with times and locations to be announced.
