The Fannin County Rebels wrestling team traveled to Swain County, North Carolina, Wednesday, December 22, to compete in the Devil Duals. The Rebels fired on all cylinders and were able to go 4-1 on the day. The 4-1 record gets the Rebels back on track as they have been short handed due to injury and illness for most of the season.
Fannin County wrestling coach Chuck Patterson said, “It has been a long time since we rattled off four wins in a row. We have wrestled some brutal competition this season and the kids have risen to every challenge win or lose. The puzzle pieces are finally starting to fall into place for this team and hopefully by January 7, at the area tournament, we will be full strength and healthy.”
