Fannin cross country competes at state meet

The Fannin County Rebel and Lady Rebel cross country team competed in the state cross country meet in Carrollton, Georgia, Saturday, November 7.

Both the Lady Rebels and the Rebels did well, setting Fannin County up for a great season next year.

The Lady Rebels were first and were able to finish sixth out of 25 teams. Carlee Holloway led the Lady Rebels, finishing in 13th with a time of 22:02. Monica Consentino was next for the Lady Rebels with a time of 25:31, followed by Olivia Temples with a time of 25:40.

Kristin Cipich was right on Temples’s heels with a time of 25:55, and Hannah Sosebee finished with a time of 25:57.

Kinsley Sullivan finished with a time of 27:18, and Taylor Poland clocked a time of 32:12 in a pool of 165 runners.

For the Rebels, they finished in 14th place out of 31 teams. Zechariah Prater led the Rebels, finishing in 44th place with a time of 19:24. Ben Bloch was next with a time of 20:13, followed by Luke Callihan with a time of 20:22.

Jake Jones clocked a time of 20:50, and Sam Jabaley crossed the finish line with a time of 21:28. James Kyle ended the meet with a time of 21:25. There were 209 runners competing.

After the meet, coach Suzianne Pass said, “I am so proud of both teams. They are amazing young men and women, and they work very hard to be the best.  We will miss our four seniors greatly next year.”
