The Fannin County Rebels and Lady Rebels cross country teams traveled to Unicoi State Park in Helen, Georgia for a region meet. Both teams competed well, with one Lady Rebel qualifying for the State Championship meet in Carrollton Friday and Saturday, November 1 through 2.
Emma White was able to finish in sixth place out of 41 runners, which was good enough to punch her ticket to the State Championship. Kinsley Sullivan finished 28th, followed by Hannah Sosebee in 31st place and Erin Jones in 39th Olivia Akins and Anabell Lillard rounded out the Lady Rebels. Junior varsity runners Taylor Poland finished 18th, while Rose Ballew finished 26th overall.
For the Rebels, freshman Lucas Whitaker set a personal record and led the Rebels with a 27th place finish out of 49 runners. Jake Jones was not far behind in 31st place, while Hayden Lynch finished 32nd.
Corbin Head placed 41st, while Jack Dlugokinski placed 43rd. Sam Jabaley and Bryce Ware rounded out the top the Rebel runners.
Junior varsity runners Austin Smith placed 66th and Hernan Mares finished 67th.
