Fannin boys take first in 4 x 400 meter

The Fannin County High School (FCHS) Boys and Girls Track & Field Teams competed on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Creekview High School against over 600 athletes from Creekview, Sequoyah, West Forsyth, Pickens, and Cambridge high schools.  Both the boys team and the girls team placed third overall.

Wins and places among the top competitors came in a variety of events.

Among those wins was a first place finish by the boys 4x400 meter relay team made of Luke Holsonback, Brodey Angel, Braden Taylor, and Braxton Cheatham.

The following athletes placed in the top three in their respective event, and several recorded personal records:

•Karli Sams placed first in the 1600 meter run;

•Adia Galloway placed second in Pole Vault with a Personal Record (PR);

•Ava Acker placed 3rd in the 800 meter run;

•Presley Daves placed third in Shot Put with a PR;

•Braxton Cheatham placed 1st in the 100 meter dash, first in long jump, and first in the 400 meter dash with a PR;

•Breven Hennessey placed first in Pole Vault with a PR;

•Cooper Born placed first in Discus;

•Luke Holsonback placed third in the 100 meter dash with a PR; and,

•Braden Taylor placed third in the 300 meter hurdles with a PR and third in Pole Vault with a PR.

Athletes who qualify will compete next at the Creekview Invitational on Saturday, March 8.

The boys and girls teams will compete next as an entire team on Wednesday, March 12, at Walton High School.
