Fannin 10U stars win title

    The Fannin County 10U Recreation Allstar girls basketball team competed in their district championship Friday, September 21. 

    The Lady Rebels were able to beat Pickens and Trion to win the district tournament.

    In the first game against Pickens County, Fannin jumped out quick and dominated the Dragonettes 31-4, to advance to the championship game against Trion.

    Trion battled with Fannin for a while, but the Lady Rebels ended up topping them 36-10.

    Albany Cole had seven points, while Sadie Patton and Myla Rogers had six each. Megan Davis scored five and Addison Hyatt, Elli Hampton and Saige Turner scored four points each.

    The Lady Rebels also won the MAC (Mountain Athletic Conference) tournament earlier in February. 

    The Lady Rebels bested Towns County 31-4, Dawson 46-10, Pickens 39-2 and went on to beat Lumpkin County in the championship game 34-7.
