Copper Basin High School (CBHS) senior softball player Channing Beach signed her letter of intent to play softball at Tennessee Wesleyan University (TWU) Thursday, May 5.
Beach has been on the CBHS softball team and lettered all four years and was selected for the All-District team her senior year. She has played softball for 12 years.
She plans to study and obtain a degree in accounting. Then, she plans to obtain a law degree at Mercer University.
Coach Jeremy Pittman said, “I have coached Channing for several years throughout her softball career. She has always been a solid third baseman. I have confidence that she will do great things in her time at TWU. I’m excited to watch Channing at the next level.”
Copper Basin softball head coach Lindsey Hyatt said, “We are so incredibly proud of Channing here at Copper Basin. We have had a season of adversity this year and it has never affected the way she played. She has been encouraging to her teammates regardless if we were winning or losing. I look for Channing to work hard at Tennessee Wesleyan and be an incredible teammate.”
Her parents BJ Howard and Tina Hayes said, “From the time she started softball in 8u she had grit and determination that has followed her all throughout her softball career. We are so proud of her on and off the field. She takes her role seriously and is a great team leader with a positive attitude. We will always be her number one fan and excited to see her play at the collegiate level.”
