Basin beats Lookout Valley

Copper Basin’s Lady Cougars volleyball team hosted Lookout Valley Tuesday, September 6, for a huge district match up for both teams.

To get the night off to a good start, Basin’s junior varsity beat the Yellow Jackets in two sets, 25-7 and 25-18. Freshman Alexis Hyatt had three aces and three kills, while junior Maddie Cribbs had four aces.

In the varsity match, the Lady Cougars won in three straight sets by scores of  25-14, 25-22 and 25-19.  Senior Destiny Pittman led the way for Copper Basin, getting seven aces. Junior Sarah Collis finished with one ace and four kills and another junior, Nicole Marie, chipped in with seven aces. Junior Taylee Hall had three aces and three kills, and senior Sapporiah Ross had one ace to go along with eight kills.

The Lady Cougars are 11-1 on the regular season, but more importantly, they are 9-1 in the district.
