Athletes win medals

    Several members of the Fannin County High School (FCHS) Rebels and Lady Rebels track and field teams competed Saturday, April 5, 2025 in the Georgia Spring Break Showdown at Marietta High School. The local athletes competed against several hundred athletes from 39 schools in all classifications,  single A through 6A.

    The following from FCHS earned Top 3 spots in their respective event(s) and received a medal:

    •The girls 4x800 meter relay team made up of Lindsey Holloway, Kensley Pickelsimer, Ava Acker, and Karli Sams finished first and won a gold medal; and,

    •Karli Sams placed third in the 1600 meter run and won a bronze medal. Sams also met the Milesplit Bronze-Level Standard in the 1600 meter run for the second time this season.

    The teams will compete next at River Ridge High School Wednesday, April 9.
